Stillness
Never before had I experienced such utter and complete silence as during these hours in the middle of the night, as the ship we were on silently drifted past this magnificent scene.

Gentle Giant
To witness these incredible beings in their natural habitat is something that cannot be described with mere words and/or photos, their undeniable strength almost belying their gentle disposition.

A Child of the World
The more I worked on this image, the deeper it went, the more emotions it evoked.
Maybe because I remember that moment so well: this young boy running out of the woods onto the dirt road we were driving on.
Maybe it is the many stories being told by his face, his handmade helmet, his clothing.
Maybe it is the fear, the hope, the curiosity, the shear innocence that is being run over by the harsh realities of daily life.
It is moments like this that make me so very grateful for the life I have been so lucky to live.
And it is moments like this that remind me I, we all, can do better. We all can do so much more to change this world to be a better place......UgandaPeopleBlack and Whitemonochrome
