There is no question that humans throughout their history have found inspiration for arts and design in nature. These exquisite patterns that unfolded in front of me on a late afternoon in Death Valley, were really brought to the forefront by the low light from the setting sun, emphasizing these designs by the resulting highlights and shadows. It almost felt like a RunWay fashion show.
